Skin Needling

The Natural Alternative to Ageing

Advanced Skin Needling with the Award Winning Dermapen 4

Skin needling is also called micro-needling therapy or collagen induction therapy (CIT). It is a minimally-invasive non-surgical and nonablative procedure for facial rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro-needling device to create a controlled skin injury. Topical numbing cream may be applied for a comfortable treatment. We only use and recommend the Dermapen TGA approved skin needling device as it is held up as the gold standard in skin needling. All consumables are disposable, eliminating a cross contamination risk. At Eley Hooper Skin Therapist we offer advanced skin needling for scar revision, age management and pigmentation…as well as  many other skin therapy services for your skin condition.

Skin Needling + RF

Skin needling & RF is an advanced cosmetic procedure. It uses tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to rejuvenate skin. It can be used on the face & body.

The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The damage stimulates the growth of healthy new collagen, elastin & essential skin nutrients, which can benefit common skin issues like acne scars, lax skin and wrinkles.

Compared with treatments like chemical peels and dermabrasion, skin needling with RF is minimally invasive and suitable for most skin types especially aged, dull & scarred skins.

Microneedling uses a fine needle to create micro channels in the skin. This triggers the production of collagen, elastin, GAGS & healthy vessels. When the procedure also uses RF, the needle releases radiofrequency into the channels, causing additional (controlled) damage. This enhances the effects of standard microneedling.

The skin that grows back is thicker and smoother. This can target:

  • fine lines & wrinkles
  • stretch marks
  • appearance of large, open pores
  • acne scars
  • scars from injury or surgery
  • hyperpigmentation
  • loose, sagging skin

Skin needling with RF is considered safe, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone.

You may be an ideal candidate if you:

  • are in good health
  • have early signs of aging
  • have realistic expectations

Alternatively, you should avoid the treatment if you:

  • currently or recently used Accutane or antibiotics
  • have an active cold sore breakout
  • had recent surgery
  • have a moderate to severe skin disease (like psoriasis)
  • are receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy
  • are pregnant
  • are taking anticoagulants
  • have a history of keloids, hypertrophic scarring, or poor wound healing
